David Mason is back in the Kent Kings line-up just over two months since he was released by the Sittingbourne based team.
It means that they are strengthened further less than they exited the National Trophy without a victory in the competition.
Speaking about the reintroduction of Mason, co-promoter Len Silver said: “David is, and has been extremely keen to be back in the side and has been undertaking various strenuous exercise’s to keep him in good shape.”
Despite him not having ridden since May he will be back in the team for the fixture against Scunthorpe Saints. Mason is excited by his return to the side “For me it was like going back to the old Weymouth days when I first rode the track, but being ten years older it’s a little bit different now,” said Mason.
“There are no expectations from me, after a long talk with Len (Silver) I’m here to balance the team and more than anything and help the youngsters, it’s handy for these guys, if they want any advice I’m on hand which is good for them.”
Mason added, “I’m really pleased to be back with the Kings and just hope that we can all pull together to give the fans a few wins, hopefully points that I score will make the difference. I haven’t ridden since the Isle of Wight meeting in May; I’ll be having a practice this week to get myself ready for Monday.”
The rider to miss out is Sam Woods who is out with an injury and wouldn’t have been taking part in Monday’s fixture. Once again Central Park Stadium will play host to the fixture with a 6:30pm start.
Talking about Monday the Scunthorpe Saints have been Conference/National League championship winners on three occasions since opening their doors eight years ago. They elected not to enter a side in this year’s National League but have put together a strong side set to test the CTA Fire Kings on Monday evening 6.30pm start.
