If you ever fancied getting into baseball, now is your chance with the Kent Mariners looking for new talent to join their team.
The Mariners – the county’s senior baseball club – play in British Baseball Federation’s AA south section – the third tier of the sport in the country.
This season the Mariners’ reshuffled 13-team division includes the likes of Brentwood Stags, Essex Redbacks, Guildford Mavericks, London Mammoths, Poole Piranhas and newly-promoted Hove Tuesday.
All teams will face six home games and six away games during the season, which runs from April until the end of August, with several double-headers taking the total games played to 18.
Indoor preparations are already underway at Astor of Hever School’s sports complex at Oakwood Park, Maidstone, with outdoor training set to begin at the Mariners’ purpose-built ground at Cobdown Sports & Social Club, Ditton, in April.
The club are seeking players of all abilities, right through to novices, aged 16-and-over to try-out for the team.
