Margate Football Club have begun the task of forming a new senior ladies team to compete this season.
The Club have held its first trial session for any ladies that are looking to get involved in playing football. The trials were held at the Margate Five-a-side centre and were overseen by Head of Football in the Community Wayne Wilson.
The Blues hope to be able to form a side to compete in the Ryman Woman’s Cup, Kent League Plate and the Kent Ladies Football League.
The Club are also looking to appoint a Ladies Manager to take charge of the new side.
Head of Football in the Community Wayne Wilson was impressed by those that attended the first open trial session.
“Everyone that turned up played really well. It was a great indicator as to what we can achieve here with a Ladies side. As a Club, having a successful Ladies side competing in competitive football would be a huge achievement and after tonight we have taken a huge step towards that”.
Trials will continue this week at the Margate Five-a-side Centre on Monday 21st July starting at 6PM until 7PM.
