Margate will kick-start the New Year with a Kent derby against Cray Wanderers on Wednesday 1st January 2020 and a Food bank drive.
Between April 2018 and March 2019 the Trussell Trust estimates that there were 1.6 million three day emergency food supplies distributed. This was a 19% increase on the previous year.
Like most areas in the country Thanet is no exception to this growing crisis.
With a decent crowd expected on New Years Day, Margate are asking fans of both teams to support efforts to collect the festive leftovers to donate to a local food bank, helping people across Thanet have a better start to 2020.
Donations will be given to those in crisis or severe hardship across the local area. Items should be properly considered before donating within the Hartsdown Bar on match day.
