March of the Day Two
March of the Day Two

Following the success of March of the Day in March 2024, a walk around football clubs in the north, the event is being repeated in 2025 though this time around clubs in the south.

The walk is again around 178 miles but this time starts at Wembley Stadium before circling the football grounds of the capital and then heading out to East Anglia to finish at Portman Road. the home of Ipswich Town. The majority of the same core team are resuming their duties in this event. And once again teams of walkers are joining the event at any of the daytime stages.

Registration will close on February 16th, with over 400 walkers already signed up. This gives the organisers sufficient time to order the t-shirts for all walkers. There is now a big push leading up to that deadline to try to recruit as many teams of walkers as possible.

The event in 2024 raised a staggering £200,000 for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. The aim in 2025 is to take that beyond a quarter of a million pounds.

Over thirty former footballers have already registered to show their support for former Bradford City defender Stephen Darby and Bristol Rovers and Huddersfield Town star, Marcus Stewart, who have been diagnosed with the condition, and the MND Community.

Amongst the walkers who have registered are one time Ebbsfleet United management team members Daryl McMahon and Steve Gritt. A contingent of Welling United board members, officials and supporters will be joining at various points including the section from Bromley F.C. to the Wings’ stadium in Park View Road.

Anyone can register so why not come and be part of something very special? This can be done on the following link https://www.redwoodevents.co.uk/register-for-march-of-the-day-2/ but don’t delay and risk missing the deadline.
