Former Manchester United duo Clayton Blackmore and Neil Webb have been announced as being the latest signings for the Lashings All-Stars.
With the Maidstone based squad now taking shape for the 2013 season under captain Perry Groves, both Blackmore and Webb will add to the wealth of experience on show for Lashings as they play a host of charity fixtures over the coming year.
Full back Blackmore made over 250 appearances for the Red Devils during which time he won the FA Cup, and the European Cup Winners Cup – in the final of that game with Barcelona Blackmore made a crucial goal line clearance to deny Michael Laudrup an equaliser as United clung to a 1-0 lead.
He also won 39 caps for Wales and spent five seasons with Middlesbrough, for whom he played in the 1997 FA Cup final.
Webb was a classy midfielder won 26 caps for England, breaking into the squad under Bobby Robson after starring for Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest.
Webb was a key member of the United side that beat Crystal Palace 1-0 the 1990 FA Cup Final replay, setting up Lee Martin for the winning goal.
