Maidstone United will look to continue their unbeaten home league record when they entertain struggling AFC Hornchurch at The Gallagher Stadium on Saturday.
Manager Jay Saunders has a selection dilemma prior to kick off with fit again top scorer Frannie Collin, new signing from Ebbsfleet Billy Bricknell and on loan Dover man Nathan Elder fighting out for the probable two spaces up front.
Jay may decide to play all three up front together but it is likely that one of them will have to start on the bench.
Top of the table Stones have strengthened their promotion push towards the Conference South with another signing from Ebbsfleet. Defender Shane Huke joined Billy Bricknell in signing for the club in the week and may make his debut on Saturday. Shane is comfortable across the whole back line but is most comfortable at centre back.
AFC Hornchurch come to the Gallagher without an away win in the league since a 3-0 success at Canvey Island in the middle of October.
Their lowly position in the Ryman Premier League table has surprised the Maidstone manager who says “they have a good team, with many players that other teams would take and that they have nothing to lose come Saturday”.
The scorer of two of the goals that day at Canvey is now at Woking FC so the goal threat will most likely come from George Purcell.
The ex Margate man has 5 goals from 14 games this season and will be hoping to help out his former club. A familiar face may be seen in the AFC Hornchurch dugout with ex Leyton Orient and Torquay boss Martin Ling coaching the side alongside boss Jimmy Mcfarlane.
Finally, Maidstone come into the game of the back of 2 wins and 4 draws in their last six games but without a clean sheet in their last 9 games where AFC Hornchurch come into the game with a mixed bag of results, with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats in their last six games, keeping 3 clean sheets but also failing to score in 3 of those games.
