Tonight holders Maidstone United host Dartford in the 2nd round of the Kent Senior Cup.
This will be the fourth time these clubs have met this season. A 2-2 draw in the league at Princes Park was repeated at The Gallagher Stadium a week later in the FA Trophy. Maidstone then won the replay 1-0 to progress to the next round.
The results show there isn’t much to choose between the two teams and the fact they are 8th and 7th in the league also confirms this.
Both teams are coming into the game on the back of disappointing 1-0 defeats. Maidstone lost at St Albans whilst Dartford were defeated by Slough Town.
Neither manager is likely to see this competition as a priority, therefore one can expect to see a host of changes to their starting line ups.
However their is still a level of importance to the managers in the fact it is still a local derby and both sets of fans will expect maximum effort from the players selected.
The prize for the winner will be a place in the quarter-final.
