Bromley travel down to Maidstone United on Tuesday night to face their newly promoted old rivals in a league game for the first time in modern history.
Since the 70’s these two old names of Kent Football have only met sporadically in FA Cup games, with Maidstone usually coming out on top. Since The Stones reformed the two clubs have met in three cup games with Maidstone winning two matches at Hayes Lane and Bromley winning the one at Sittingbourne.
This will also be the first time The Ravens have played at The Gallagher Stadium and a competitive game on a 3G pitch.
Going into this National League clash Maidstone have started the season in much better form sitting in twelfth and having won 2-0 at North Ferriby on Saturday. Bromley have struggled for form so far this term, a 1-0 home defeat to Macclesfield on Saturday saw Neil Smith’s side stay eighteenth in the table with eight points from nine games.
The Ravens have not been helped by the familiar injury problems they always seem to suffer, with Louis Dennis, Lee Minshull, Alex Wall and Ben May ruled out along with the suspended Conor Dymond.
With a good number of Bromley fans expected to make the journey across, the game should be played in a cracking atmosphere and Smith will be hoping his side can raise their game and start to put some daylight between themselves and the bottom four having only picked up a point from their last three games.
