Tuesday night sees an intriguing Kent derby at The Gallagher Stadium when Maidstone United take on Bromley in The National League.
The Ravens go into the game sitting in thirteenth, having lost their last two matches by a single goal 2-1 at Halifax Town and 1-0 at home to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, conceding a 93rd minute goal in a game neither side looked likely to win. Bromley manager Neil Smith expressed his disappointment at the result and that one defensive lapse had cost his side a point. He hinted at changes in the line up for the next match and the need to shake things up.
The Stones who have been in good form of late, which has taken them up to fifth in the table, will look to extend their unbeaten run of five games. The latest being a 1-0 win away to Barrow with former Bromley loanee Joe Pigott scoring the goal. With two more popular ex-Bromley players also lining up for Maidstone in Joe Anderson and Reece Prestedge it should add even more spice to what promises to be a very entertaining game.
Bromley came out the better in all three meetings between the sides last season winning 2-0 away in September 2016 in what was voted as the best performance of the campaign by their supporters in the fanzine’s end of season poll. They will need to put on another display of similar quality to take anything from this one against Jay Saunders’ side who look to be mounting a serious bid for a play off spot in 2018.
