Maidstone United got a last gasp equaliser to gain a point against opposition that showed why they had one their previous three games.

This will do them a world of good & hopefully they can go on from this & start winning.

The game was only 1 minute old when a ball into the Maidstone area saw Alex Winter & Lee Worgan collide with Worgan coming off worse.

Aldershot started the quicker of the two teams with their slick passing but in the 12^th Maidstone Jai Reason was put through into the area but his shot from 15 yards went just past the post.

Three minutes later a ball into the Maidstone area saw Worgan come off his line & smother Matt McClure’s shot. Aldershot suddenly upped the tempo & in the 20^th minute Jim Kellerman tried his luck from 20 yards but it went just over the bar.

In the 27^th minute Cheye Alexander crossed into the area for McClure & from 8 yards saw his header tipped over the bar by Worgan, in the very next minute a corner to the near post saw Will DeHavilland’s header go just over the bar & then in the very next minute James Rowe 20 yards out tried his luck & saw his shot turned around the post by Worgan.

Maidstone were hanging on & in the 32^nd minute a counter attack by Maidstone saw Jai Reason get to the by-line & his cross found Delano Sam-Yorke but from 6 yards out his side foot shot was superbly saved by Jake Cole.

Five minutes later Bobby Joe Taylor nearly made a dream come back when 30 yards out he received the ball went forward & his shot whistled past the post.

Three minutes later DeHavilland saw his shot from 20 yards saved by Worgan at the 2^nd attempt & in the third minute of added on time Taylor’s cross saw Rowe’s flicked header go inches past the post. Jay Saunders would be as relieved man as his team were second best but the positives were that they were still level & they could play better.

The second half started slowly but Aldershot were still looking the likely to score & in the 55^th minute Shamir Fenelon in the area saw his shot saved by Worgan.

Four minutes later Maidstone nearly scored when Joe Pigott’s free kick from 20 yards on the left side was tipped over the bar by Cole.

In the next minute it was Aldershot who nearly scored when Rowe & McClure combined leaving Rowe’s snapshot went past the post.

In the 67^th minute the cross bar saved Maidstone when Jim Kellerman in the area saw his shot beat Worgan but not the bar. In the 71^st minute another glorious chance went a begging when Pigott was put through on the left side & he raced into the area before crossing for Sam-Yorke six yards out but his shot was superbly saved by Cole would Maidstone suffer for this miss.

In the 76^th minute Aldershot took the lead when Jake Gallagher who had only been on for 3 minutes found himself in the area on his own & his drilled shot ended up in the back of the net probably what they deserved.

As the game drew to an end Maidstone went direct & in the 3^rd minute of added on time Sam-Yorke was put through on the right but from 20 yards his shot flew over the bar, most people thought that was it but in the 5^th minute of added on time Maidstone scored when a corner into the area was half cleared & Worgan who had come up raced back & passed out wide to Reason whose cross to the far post found Josh Hare & his header went in via the post to cause the crowd to go mental.

The final whistle went 20 seconds later & Maidstone had grabbed a point which they did not look likely to get but credit to the players for keeping going.
