Successful results in matches during this last week see both Maidstone Ladies’ and Men’s 1st teams reaching the Kent Cup finals later in the month.
On Wednesday 28th March the ladies beat Bromley Beckenham after penalties. This success against East Region Premier Division champions sees the ladies in their 5th final in as many years.
To top that, on Sunday 1st April the men beat local rivals Sutton Valence 3-1 after extra time, with goals by Will Hutchings, Will Ostler and Jeremy Swaffer. This is the first time the men have reached the final, and all is set for a great day out for the club. The Kent Final Day is Sunday 29th at Holcombe Hockey Club (Chatham).
Roger Daniels the delighted Club chairman commented “This was a great win for the club in this local derby match. The guys have worked hard all season but everything has come good in the last few weeks.
“To reach the final the men had wins over Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and now Sutton Valence. This is just the first in what will be a series of good news stories about the club to be revealed over coming weeks, watch this space”
