Maidstone enjoy weekend to remember

Maidstone Lacrosse had a weekend to remember as they beat 3rd place Epsom 14-7 in what was a comfortable victory.

Epsom started strong winning the first quarter 4-1 but after that Maidstone switched on and didn’t give the opposition a look in all the way to the final whistle.

The Epsom Victory means if Maidstone win their final 2 games, which are both this weekend against London University and Oxford, then they gain promotion to Division 1.

Meanwhile, The Kent county Lacrosse team went to the South England counties tournament on Sunday in Reading.

Maidstone Lacrosse club fielded 5 players for the county team who came 5th over all. Notable moments of the tournament were beating Devon 10-0 and being 1 goal up against the over all tournament winners (London) at half time.

Maidstone Lacrosse have also sent four of its players for South England squad selection. After the trial process it was announced that Hugh Mitchison and Joe Burnett will represent the South of England at the British National Championships in May and other tournaments.

Maidstone are on the road this weekend to Reading Lacrosse club to Play Swansea in the Plate final with a chance to win the club’s first bit of silverware.

They have also made the brave decision to add a second team to the club, so if anyone fanices giving lacrosse a try, regardless of experience or ability, please get in touch, as they’d love to have you.
