Maidenhead United 4-2 Bromley

Bromley suffered an eighth successive league defeat, but still stayed up courtesy of other results as they were totally out performed by a Maidenhead side who needed a win to keep themselves up.Bromley

The game started in glorious sunshine with The Magpies dominating the play, former Raven Richard Pacquette firing over, Davis Pratt firing wide and Harry Prichard going close with a free kick.

The home side took the lead on 15 mins when Prichard beat three defenders before crossing for Pratt to score from six yards.

Bromley rallied briefly and equalised on 20 mins when a deep corner was headed towards goal by Moses Swaibu for Danny Waldren to head home.

Soon after Prichard hit the bar from distance at one end and Elliott Buchanan shot wide at the other before Maidenhead took the lead on 33 mins.

Prichard was again involved when setting up Reece Tison-Lascaris to finish from close range.

Pacquette had a couple of efforts saved by Joe Welch, while Louie Theophanous was denied by Bill Lumley to keep it at 2-1.

The second half saw Maidenhead once again dominate and put pressure on a flat Bromley. Prichard and Pacquette went close for The Magpies, Buchanan had an effort saved by Lumley on a rare Ravens attack, but the home side made it 3-1 on 61 mins when Pacquette headed home unmarked from a corner.

Curtis Ujah volleyed over soon after and they also had a goal disallowed before Bromley’s problems were compounded when Danny Waldren was sent off for violent conduct after clashing with Tison-Lascaris who was booked.

The Ravens pulled it back to 3-2 on 80 mins when Pierre Joseph-Dubois flicked the ball past an advancing Lumley, but it was soon 4-2 when Pacquette was on hand again to convert a Tison-Lascaris cross three minutes later.

Dubois went close late on, but Bromley couldn’t match their hosts efforts over the piece and finished up with what they deserved with too many of their senior players looking disinterested at best.
