Lee Bowyer’s injury ravaged team head to Luton on Tuesday evening seeking their first win in six games.
Saturday’s draw with Cardiff saw the. Addicks slide into the bottom half of the table for the first time this season.
Bowyer has further injury woes as he trues to upset Luton. Josh Cullen looked to have sustained serious ankle ligament damage against Cardiff on Saturday, and Erhun Oztumer was limping after the game. Oztumer is a player Bowyer believes would struggle with two games in three days anyway.
Darren Pratley returns from suspension to bolster midfield, but Lyle Taylor is still not ready to return up front.
Pratley could play at the base of the diamond or in the middle as Cullen’s replacement. Deji Oshilaja anchored the midfield on Saturday, and may continue in the road.
Naby Sarr and Chris Solly are other contenders for the role. Albie Morgan is another contender for a midfield starting berth.
Charlton could line up like this:
Phillips; Matthews, Lockyer, Pearce, Purrington;Solly, Pratley, Morgan, Gallagher; Leko, Bonne.
Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Sarr, Oshilaja, Doughty, Davison.
The referee will be Darren England.
Despite the injuries, this is a game that Bowyer will expect to take three points from.
