Bromley Football Club have announced the appointment of former Gillingham coach Steve Lovell as Assistant Manager.
First Team Manager and former Gillingham midfielder Neil Smith made the appointment on Friday bringing in the vastly experienced former striker.
Lovell has spent a number of seasons at Priestfield, but was allowed to leave the club as manager Justin Edinburgh looks to freshen up his backroom staff.
“It is fantastic news to have Steve Lovell join the coaching staff, his experience will be invaluable this season.” said Smith.
“I have known Steve for over twenty years as both player and a coach. I cannot wait to start working with him ahead of pre season.”
Steve began his playing career at Crystal Palace in the late seventies and earned over seventy appearances for The Eagles. Following his departure in 1983 he went on to enjoy lengthily spells at both Millwall and Gillingham while also achieving six international caps for Wales between 1981 and 1986.
Mark Hammond remains a part of the first team coaching staff at Bromley in addition to his new role as Academy Director.
