Lordswood 4-1 Fisher

Lordswood picked up another three points, maintaining their current form, against a struggling Fisher side who have have come off the back of two defeats, in what was a 5 goal, action packed fixture.

The Lords struggled to settle early on which meant they were pushed onto the back foot by an immense flurry of pressure from the visitors within the opening 20 minutes. Fisher had many chances to go ahead with multiple shots towards goal, but they couldn’t find the target and allowed Lordswood to get a hand on the game.

A cross from Callum peck found the head of defender Will Currie who put it home to eventually give a 1-0 lead to the hosts. Following the goal, Lordswood changed gear and penetrated Fisher in their own half, Brad Schafer came close on the 30-minute mark with heroic effort towards goal from the edge of the box which was narrowly saved by the Fisher keeper. Matt Gething doubled Lordswood’s lead 3 minutes later when he drove into the box, dribbled past the defender, and put it past the keeper with a strong strike.

Lordswood were forced into an early substitution when goal scorer Will Currie picked up a knock and was replaced by centre-half Jacob Strouts after 37 minutes. Ultimately the Lords were not finished for the half and when the ball found the feet of forward Jake Embery deep inside the box, he took his chance well and made it 3-0 to the lords before half-time.

The second half began, and Fisher started swimmingly with a quick passing play between Billy Brown and Alvin Reji who eventually laid it off to Edward Sata who caught Lordswood off guard and brought a goal back after 27 seconds for the Fish. The hosts were able to sustain the pressure and were able to pull themselves back into the game with a Jake Embery shot which was fired high over the bar and two minutes later Callum Peck followed with a curling ball from range, aiming for the top corner, but was stopped with an incredible save from Sam Nwabuko.

Substitutes were brought in for either side to give them the edge over the game but did not prove enough for the visitors as substitute Elliott Duncan got the 4th for Lordswood in the 87th minute rounding the game off with 3 points for the hosts.

Lordswood manager Nicky Southall shared his thoughts with the media following the game and shared his delight with the three points and 4 goals, he also stated how Fisher played the way he thought after scouting them on occasions as-well as also stating how the boys are going to prepare for the next two games (Bearsted Fc & Shoreham Fc).
