The Invicta Dynamos made it the perfect weekend with a 5-2 victory against the London Raiders in the SouthEast Trophy on Sunday night.
Off the back of Saturday evening’s 9-1 demolition of Cardiff NIHL Devils in the league, Kevin Parrish’s side headed to Lee Valley looking to maintain their current form and they came back to Kent with two valuable points in the trophy.
It was the perfect start to the night for the Dynamos when Danny Hammond netted after just five minutes and not long after netminder Chris Douglas kept the side ahead with a great save to deny former import Jakub Klima who was clean through on goal.
The Dynamos were to double their lead four minutes into the second period with Callum Fowler bagging his 100th point of thre season when he turned the puck home on a powerplay.
However, the Raiders were in no mood to just roll over when Klima set up Frankie Harvey to reduce the deficit just two minutes later.
Showing true spirit, the Dynamos restored their two goal lead only seven seconds later when Fowler and Hammond combined to set up leading points scorer Andy Smith.
The game was almost put beyond doubt when Arran Strawson netted on 31 minutes and despite the Raiders pulling another back with six minutes left in the period, the Dyanmos were to go in at the break leading 4-2.
With the clock running down in the last and both sides looking to create chances, Marek Nahlik was to hit the post for the Dynamos, but it mattered not as Elliott Knell put the game to bed scoring in the last minute.
The victory keeps the Dynamos Trophy dreams alive and more importantly keeps the confidence high going into these final weeks of the season.
Next weekend sees the Dynamos head to Bracknell Hornets on Saturday night in the league before league leaders Chelmsford Chieftains come to Gillingham on Sunday evening for the top of the table clash.
