The emergency loan window closes for the season on Thursday with clubs making a last minute move to add to their squads.
This was going to be the last season that the emergency window was in operation but FIFA have granted the Football League a year’s grace.
Unless there is a change of heart, the 2015/16 campaign will be the last season that clubs will be able to bring loan players in outside of the summer and January windows.
FIFA want to protect the integrity of competitions and it is difficult to argue against feelings that the emergency system has been abused.
The idea was to allow lower league clubs, who could not afford to carry large squads, to bring in players on a short term basis, when they sustained injuries. The window is now often used by clubs to strengthen their squads as they push for promotion or fight to stave off relegation.
One player making a late loan move is former Charlton youngster, Semi Ajayi. Ajayi joined Arsenal after leaving the Addicks and will spend the rest of the season at Cardiff.
There are rumours that Morgan Fox is interesting Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham. Fox was thought to be on Ipswich’s radar earlier in the season. Scouts have clearly seen potential in Fox that they believe can be developed.
Charlton confirmed on Wednesday that the match against Millwall at the Den on Good Friday will be shown at The Valley via live beamback transmission.
Tickets – priced at £8 each – are currently available to season ticket holders, Valley Gold members and Red Card holders who have attended at least four away games this season. The game will be shown in Crossbars lounge in the North Stand and fans can gain admission to the stadium from 1.30pm onwards.
