Harrison Lillis is backing the Invicta Dynamos to record two wins over the weekend to keep their play-off push going.
The 19 year old forward came through the ranks of the Gillingham based ice hockey side, playing for the Invicta Mustangs before being asked by Head Coach, Kevin Parrish, to step up to play for the senior side.
Now getting more regular action for the Dynamos, Lillis is hoping the side can put last Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to the Chelmsford Chieftains behind them:
“The players have been putting the effort in, there’s been a positive attitude at training and a positive attitude at games. Everyone has been turning up and giving it 110%.”
“We were unlucky as we scored two really good goals, but then conceded to really good goals before going on to win a tight game.”
“I’m really happy that Kev’s giving me more ice time. It’s always good to be given the opportunity to prove yourself. When you get out there you’ve got to take the chance and show what you can do.”
One thing that has plagued the Dynamos this season is consistancy, or lack of it and Lillis is hoping the side can record two wins on the road this weekend as they travel to face Wightlink Raiders and Milton Keynes Thunder:
“Most teams struggle with consistancy and one game the top of the league can lose to the bottom of the league. It’s such a wide open league with everyone beating one another
“We want to get back to winning ways and take wins from both the Wighlink and Milton Keynes games. The Isle of Wight is always a tough place to go with their small rink. You’ve got to get your shots off quick there.”
“Milton Keynes is a much bigger rink, so they will be two totally different games. Our away form has been good recently, so I think we can come away with a four point weekend.”
The Dynamos next home game is against the Bracknell Hornets on Sunday 10th February with face off at 5:15pm at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham.
