In-form Lewisham Borough entertain third placed Larkfield & New Hythe this evening in a Southern Counties East Football League First Division at the Ladywell Stadium.
Although The Boro’s four game winning run was ended on Saturday with a one-all draw, they have gone six games unbeaten and have won their last three home games.
As a result, they have climbed up to tenth place in the table and can continue to look up the table.
Meanwhile, the Larks have had a blip and are now seven points behind league leaders Snodland, albeit with a game in hand.
They have gone five games without a win and their reverse at home to AFC Whyteleafe was their second consecutive loss on their own patch.
The preceding home defeat was the first meeting with Lewisham. Veteran striker Frankie Sawyer opened the scoring for the Larks in the nineteenth minute, having already hit the bar, and most of the spectators would have expected them to have kicked on from there.
However, Lloyd Davis’ team came out quickly after the break and levelled within four minutes through Montel Williams who converted from the spot.
Ten minutes later they turned the game on its head when Adekunle Adeyinka slotted home. As the Larks searched for an equaliser, they got caught on the break in the sixth minute of stoppage time when Sineen Sineen sprung the offside trap and finished calmly.
