28 year old Welshman Nicky Lewis has re-signed for the Invicta Dynamos ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
The upcoming season will be Nicky Lewis’ eighth at the Silver Blades with the forward first appearing in Kent in the summer of 2009.
Since then, aside from a brief stint in the EPL with the Sheffield Steeldogs in 2010/11, the Welshman has been ever present in Gillingham and has dressed for the side 297 times ranking him eighth on the team’s list of all time appearances.
In just under 300 outings Lewis has made his presence felt with 112 goals and 133 assists giving him a total of 245 points in Kent. 22 of those came during 2015/16 during which he also led the side as captain as he found the net 13 times whilst playing a role in 9 more.
Now he will be hoping to add to his tally and climb even higher than his position of 12th in the club’s list of all time points’ scorers as he commits to a team that has firmly become his home from home for another season.
Speaking on the return of Nicky Lewis, Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “I’m very happy to have Nicky returning for another year. After seven seasons I think it’s safe to say we know exactly what to expect from Nicky and he’s a player I would always want on my roster.”
“Nicky is a superb athlete, a team player and a great character. He brings speed, skill and work rate to the ice and invaluable experience and personality away from it.”
“Despite being here for seven years he also takes great pride in wearing the Dynamos jersey week in, week out and his passion for both the sport and the club will once again be important when we begin the new campaign in September”.
Nicky Lewis will continue to wear the number 7 jersey that he has made his own in 2016/17 and his return to the roster takes the team’s head count to 12.
News of another returnee will follow on Friday as Head Coach Kevin Parrish continues to build his side ahead of the restart in September.
