KSN are delighted to bring you a sporting first: Kent’s Sporting Champions v ‘All Star’ Select XI football game in aid of two great charities.

Charity football2

To take place at Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium on Friday 29th May 2015 in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young and Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Kent Sports News is bringing together Kent’s illustrious World, European and National sporting champions from an array of sporting backgrounds to play against an ‘All Stars’ XI including well known past professional and current/ex Maidstone United footballers.

This will be the first time that such a galaxy of homegrown sporting superstars in their chosen fields will gather in one place, all in aid of the chosen charitable causes.

In recognition of this event, we can confirm that many of those stars will be bringing their ’tools of the trade’ down to The Gallagher Stadium where spectators can get ‘up close & personal’ with items such a BeWiser British Superbike.

Footballing stars scheduled to be on show for the ‘All Stars’ XI include England and Chelsea legend Dave Beasant, Wales and Millwall’s Steve Lovell, Wales & Swansea’s Andy Legg, England & Ipswich’s Russell Osman along with recognisable names from Maidstone United past & present including Jay Saunders, Nicky Southall, Steve Watt & Jack Parkinson to name but a few.

Gillingham Assistant Manager Andy Hessenthaler will dust off the boots once again and feature for the All Stars with many other former Gills stars set to take part including Adam Miller and Adam Birchall.

Meanwhile, both Sammy Moore and Jack Midson, current and former AFC Wimbledon players, will be bringing their skills to the table for the star studded game.

KSN Charity Game KSN & Catch

A special Kent Champion Sports Star will be making a guest appearance, conducting the coin toss and taking ‘kick-off’ as well as taking charge of the Kent Sports Champions XI throughout the game.

The Kent Sporting Champions will see professionals from a wide background of sports come together with stars from motorsport, darts, cricket, golf, hockey and rugby all set to feature.

Kent side, the Invicta Dynamos, will also be putting forward some of their talented players for the game, fresh from having won the NIHL Southern Cup Final.

All these sporting stars are giving up their time to play in support of these two great causes and together with the special ’side shows’ available on the night, we hope you can come along and support the event.

There will also be an opportunity to take part in the event with both an auction and competition for places in the two sides to be announced in the coming weeks.

So if you have ever fancied playing alongside a team of stars, this could be your once in a lifetime chance.

Entrance fee is £1 for children and £2.50 for adults with all proceeds being split between both charities. Golden goal and raffle tickets will be on sale in the ground for 50p. All side shows are free.

Gates and the bar opens at 6.00pm with kick off at 7.30pm.
