Cometh the hour and cometh the man, that man was Jayde Kruger as he led home a Jamun one-two in the Formula Ford Championship of Britain at the weekend.
The South African finished third in the racing on Saturday as Juan Rosso finished ahead of him in second place.
Then on Sunday, Kruger took his first victory since moving to the UK to race in the series earlier in the year. Juan Rosso was on his tail and came home in second place.
In the final race of the weekend Kruger went on to take his second third place finish of the weekend, as Rosso came home in fourth.
It meant that it was an entertaining and solid weekend for the team, as a series of drivers battled for the victories as Dan Cammish stepped aside in the championship.
Just on this weekend’s racing it looks as though next season could be very entertaining with several drivers challenging for the title.
Speaking after the racing was all wrapped up a delighted, Jayde said: ““We’ve been struggling with the tyres a bit, so I opted to take things easy at the beginning and wait for the others’ tyres to go off, and I think that paid off.
“I made a stupid mistake early on and Harrison managed to get past me, but after I had made it back past him it was just about reducing Sam’s lead. I gad to pace myself and be patient. I had to make a move somewhere along the line and I got him done into the second-last turn. From then on I kept my head down.”
Meanwhile Luke Reade who was taking part in only his second single seater race weekend since moving up from karts, had another solid outing.
He finished in ninth place in race one on Saturday and then brought his Falcon Motorsport Mygale home in eighth place in both races on Sunday. It shows an improvement for the 19-year-old race on race.
The championship now moves to Brands Hatch for the final rounds of the season over the weekend of 12th and 13th October. With Jayde Kruger and Juan Rosso keen to impress on their team’s home track, and Luke Reade looking to impress on his home track, in front of his friends and family.
