Knockhill calling for Hill
Knockhill calling for Hill

Jake Hill heads to Knockhill this weekend looking to get his Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship title challenge back in gear.

The team will head to the fan favourite Knockhill Racing Circuit this week as the team prepares to do battle once again around the 1.27-mile circuit in Fife, just north of Edinburgh. The track is one of the shortest on the calendar, as well as one of the most challenging and with its narrow and undulating layout, its unique character is loved by fans and racers alike.

The circuit has been a happy hunting ground for driver, Jake Hill, with it being the venue for his first ever BTCC victory in 2019 before finishing on the podium in 2020 and 2021.

In recent years, the circuit has seen some of Jake’s best performances, in 2022 he recorded pole position, two victories and two second place finishes to score the highest points tally for any driver that season. And in 2023, Hill would clinch two victories to catapult him back into title contention, a feat he will be looking to replicate this weekend.

The weekend will see Jake Hill, in his WSR-run BMW 330e M Sport, and the team having to carefully manage his hybrid deployment once again with his 2nd place championship position meaning he will have only 3 Secs/Lap of hybrid in qualifying, deployed at a minimum speed of 135 KPH, and six laps of hybrid to be used in the opening 24-lap race on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, Hill said: “After the testing weekend that was Croft, we are looking to hit the ground running at Knockhill, with the aim of getting back amongst the podiums to continue our championship challenge. We know we have the pace to be battling it out for victories and that will be the main aim of this weekend as I want to continue battling it out for the title and reward the team for all their hard work and dedication so far this season.

“Knockhill is one of my favourite circuits, with it being the scene of my maiden BTCC victory back in 2019. We’ve also enjoyed some brilliant performances here in 2022 and 2023, with some massive points hauls and plenty of wins and podiums. I’ll be looking to replicate those performances this weekend and I can’t wait to get out on track.”
