Kent’s Millie Knight has won downhill gold at the World Para Alpine Skiing Championships in Tarvisio, Italy.
The 18-year-old, Britain’s flag bearer for the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, triumphed with her guide Brett Wild.
Knight, who is visually impaired, finished in one minute 13.42 seconds, 1.2secs ahead of Slovakia’s Henrieta Farkasova and 5.6s clear of third-placed Eleonor Sana of Belgium.
It is a result which bodes well for Knight, little more than a year out from the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics.
