Dover Athletic manager Chris Kinnear is looking forward to taking his side to Priestfield for the Kent Senior Cup Final.
Kinnear has taken his side to the 125th Final in his first season back in charge of Whites and will come up against a determined Ebbsfleet United side.
Having a rich history in the Kent Senior Cup, Kinnear is hoping his side can pick up some silverware:
“I really do enjoy it. Obviously certain things do take priority, but we’ve gone through the season doing well in all of the cups.”
“The Kent Senior Cup should be a really good day out.”
“From the start we have been trying to win the games and we’ve beaten some good sides along the way like Bromley and Dartford.”
“We have taken it really seriously and along the way we have managed to give some of our lads that weren’t playing some games and it will be a nice way to finish off the season.”
Kinnear has both played and managed in the Kent Senior Cup and holds some great memories for the now Dover Athletic manager:
“I have played in it for Gravesend & Northfleet when Tony Stepford was manager – that was quite a few years ago and I think it was against Bromley.”
“As a manager I have won it before for Dover playing against Gravesend & Northfleet at Gillingham and when I was manager at Margate we won it three times.”
“I’ve had a lot of history with the Kent Senior Cup and that’s why I have always tried to stay managing in Kent.”
There’s been plenty of rivalry between Ebbsfleet United and Dover Athletic this season with players from both teams having featured for the opposition and Kinnear believes the final could well be a lively affair:
“It will be interesting and for some reason it has become a game with a lot on it. It will at a great ground on a nice pitch and hopefully we get a good game.”
“Hopefully there will be quite a few people there to cheer us on.”
