In what has proved their worst week for quite some time, Folkestone suffered their second 4-1 defeat on the road, making that three game unbeaten run away from home now looking a distant memory.
Ex-Billericay striker Louie Theophaneous gave the home side the lead with a scrappy goal from a corner six minutes before the half-time interval but Jack Evans gave Invicta hope with an equaliser on 63 minutes.
By that stage, Ks’ veteran keeper Rob Tolfrey had already had to be replaced by an outfield substitute, but Folkestone were no sooner level than Theophaneous struck again and further goals followed from Ellliott Buchanan (86) and sub James Daly (90) only added to the agony for Invicta.
Having talked about making changes earlier this week, manager Neil Cugley will now surely be treating that as a matter of urgency to stop his side’s alarming drop down the table.
Invicta: Roberts; Dolan, Paxman, Newman, Davies, Evans (Aboagye), Hasler, Draycott, Ter Horst, Yusuff, McCann (Rowland)
Subs not used: Starkey, Baker, Shaw
