The CTA Fire Kings get back into the saddle after Tuesday’s heavy reverse at the hands of reigning champions Cradley with a visit on Sunday to the home of the 2012 NL winners, Mildenhall.Kent Kings16
The match at West Row sees the revised line-up in action for the first-time since the decision to bring in Aaron Baseby (signed from Sunday’s hosts) as injury cover for Benji Compton.
Sevenoaks-based Baseby will ride at number two partnering the skipper Simon Lambert and will be keen to make a big impression both on the travelling Kent fans and on the club where he enjoyed two separate spells riding as a Fen Tiger. David Mason also spent some time calling the West Row circuit in the Suffolk Fens his home and the experienced Kent vice-captain will be keen to instill some ‘Magic’ into his performance after some recent master-classes in the art of team riding.
One of the beneficiaries of that has been 2014 newcomer Danny Ayres, who is regularly now visiting away tracks as an NL rider for the first time and so it is again with this relatively local trip to Mildenhall for the Newmarket-based racer. Ayres will be hoping to celebrate signing professional forms with the Sittingbourne-based club earlier this week with another eye-catching performance for the CTA Fire Kings.
The opposition has a fearsome looking heat-leader trio in the recently-installed British Under-21 champion Josh Bates, the experienced Danny Halsey and that cracker of a rider Joe Jacobs.  The two reserve berths are filled by a pair who need no introduction to Kings’ fans, Jack Kingston and Connor Coles who signed full-time with the Fen Tigers earlier this week as part of the deal which saw Aaron Baseby arrive at Central Park.
