The Kent CTA Fire Kings are still looking for their inaugural win in the National Trophy and they will try again on Monday evening.
They entertain Buxton Hitmen at Central Park Stadium with the action getting underway on track at 6:30pm, as the Kings look to avenge their defeat in Derbyshire just two short weeks ago. Where they lost by seven points.
The home side will be without reserve Jack Kingston who crashed heavily in the defeat on Monday evening, he is ruled out after sustaining a broken knuckle and concussion in the accident.
The Hitmen will be without Ryan Blacklock who is out with a broken collarbone, and they will have to invoke the rider replacement rule. Charles Wright will once again lead the Hitmen and he will be the man to watch out for after he scored 13 points against the Kings two weeks ago.
Speaking about the loss of Kingston, team manager John Sampford, said: “Jack has broken the knuckle on his wedding ring finger and cannot pull in and hold the clutch lever and grip the handle bars for racing so he needs time for that to heal. He may be out for two weeks or it may be longer only Jack will know when he can grip and be safe to come back.”
The incident that saw Kingston get injured happened when he clipped the wheel of the visiting rider and ended up through the first turn fence. He was able to walk to the ambulance after treatment
He is now wearing a cast and has his fingers strapped, speaking about the incident, Kingston said: “I clipped Lewis Rose’s back wheel but can’t remember if it was on the straight or as we were turning in, I can remember landing and my hand hurting, then they gave me some gas and air which I took too much of and then standing up and hearing the crowd applaud me but I can’t remember walking to the ambulance.”
“I’ve booked some treatment with Brian Simpson at Ipswich for laser therapy and magnetic field treatment where most riders go to quicken the healing process to help me get back on the bike as soon as possible. I should be able to return to race in three or four weeks, but luckily with work I have two weeks of college instead of doing one day a week from next week and will try and take the rest of this week of as holiday so that I don’t lose too much money.”
“The frame is a complete right off, I can salvage the back wheel, clutch, carb, engine plates, chains I might get away with the handle bars but that’s about it.”
