Kids wanting to have a bit of fun whilst learning the basics of cricket will have a chance to attend a free event this weekend.
Going under the name “Cricket Cubs”, the idea is to get kids between two and five years old, both boys and girls, involved in playing cricket whilst having a great time.
This Sunday (19th August) from 9am to 10:30am, kids will be able to try out the experience of visiting Cricket Cubs for free.
Their Open Morning is being held at the Cub Base, The 44TWO Club, Featherby Road in Gillingham.
Activities will be laid out around the sports hall to go and have a go… they will also have a display for you all to have a look at showing you how Cricket Cubs has progressed since they started up in February/March this year.
Other items on display are:
– “Name the Lion Cub” Competition (Ends end of August)
– Sign up for their new courses during the season 2012/2013
– “NEW” Cricket Bat/Multi Skills (Inclusion) Paddle exclusively from Cricket Cubs and Friends
– New age groups for the 2012/2013 season
– Their other work outside of our Cub courses
– Future planning for Cricket Cubs and Friends
Commenting on the Open Day, Cricket Cubs founder, Jon Waite, wanted as many of Kent’s kids to come along and experience the fun of playing cricket:
“I hope to see you all on the day – even if it’s for a few moments – and please pass this information to friends, family, and colleagues.”
“Cricket Cubs is all about having fun and getting kids into playing the game. The true test is how the kids tell us how we have done, and they all go home with a smile on their faces.”
