Kent Women will look to bring further T20 success to the county in 2022 after being confirmed in Group 6 of ECB’s Women’s County T20 tournament for 2022.
The 2021 South East Group Champions will take on Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex in a four-team league format, with all still to play for on a Regional Finals Day, a new addition for 2022, on Sunday 8 May.
The format of 2022’s domestic county T20 tournament means that sides will face each other twice in one day, with Kent travelling to Hampshire on Monday 18 April, following by hosting the county’s Oldest Rivals, Surrey, on Sunday 24 April.
Kent’s final Group 6 matches see an away trip to Sussex on Monday 2 May to face Sussex Women.
All group matches will take place at 11:00 & 15:00, with exact venues yet to be confirmed.
Once the four-team group is completed, Hampshire are set to host Group 6’s Finals Day on Sunday 8 May, with the group winners taking on fourth place, and group runners-up facing the third-placed side after six matches apiece, with the winners of both semi-finals contesting a Group 6 T20 Final.
Kent Women’s Head Coach, Dave Hathrill, said: “We’re looking forward to the prospect of defending our T20 title against three strong opponents.
“It’s great to see the addition of a Regional Finals Day, where any team can still win our Group – high jeopardy, competitive cricket is a fantastic learning experience for any squad, and we’re lucky to have a young set of players eager to improve.”
