The side featured six current or former England internationals and New Zealand captain Suzie Bates won all but one 50-over match this summer to seal the Royal London One-Day County Championship.

After a third NatWest T20 triumph in June, Kent beat Berkshire by 26 runs on Sunday (4 September) at The County Ground, Beckenham to cap a wonderful season.

Bates, Wisden Woman Cricketer of the Year shone with bat and ball, teenage off-spinner Megan Belt finished as top wicket-taker and several home-grown youngsters excelled.

Kent captain Charlotte Edwards said: “It’s been a brilliant summer with a great group of girls. Suzie Bates has been fantastic and led with bat, ball and in the field.

“Tash Farrant has bowled well and Alice Davidson-Richards has had a fine season. We’ve used our whole squad this summer, everyone has had a run-out.

“It’s been a real team effort. We have our international players but everyone’s performed at different points during the season.”

“Charlotte Pape and Megan Belt have performed well again. Lottie Bryan and Emily Thompson came in today and contributed.

“I love playing with this group because they’re down-to-earth and we love playing for Kent and it shows in our cricket.”
