Kent women claimed their second title of the season as they defeated Berkshire by eight wickets in the final of the women’s t20 cup at Shenley Cricket Centre on Sunday.
Charlotte Edwards led the side to victory just six days after claiming the County Championship title as the unchanged side defeated rivals Sussex by five wickets in the first semi-final and went on to dominate last years’ winners Berkshire in the final, to claim an eight wicket victory and be crowned t20 Cup champions.
Berkshire edged out fellow 2010 finalists Yorkshire by 10 runs to reach the final, in the competition that follows the same format of the Friends Life t20 finals day.
Charlotte Edwards said: “I’m delighted to win the t20 cup, it’s just reward for the girls who have worked hard all season.
“All of us have played our part this season with young players really performing and stepping up to the mark which is great to see.
“We have great strength in depth at the moment in our batting and now in our bowling which is really satisfying.
“Tammy Beaumont had another good knock this weekend and Laura Marsh showed her talent as a world class all rounder.
“Without a doubt this is a great way to end the season as double champions.”
