Kent look set to make one change to their Championship side as they welcome Leicestershire to Canterbury for this week’s game.

Opener Sam Northeast is set to replace on loan Scott Newman in the side with Chris Piesley expected to be named twelfth man for the visit of Matthew Hoggard’s side.

Unbeaten thus far in the County Championship, Kent will be keen to put Sunday’s surprise defeat to The Unicorns in the CB40 behind them with a confident display at The St Lawrence Ground.

With the weather set fair this week, the game seems set to be unhindered by bad weather and fans are expected to flock to Canterbury to see Rob Key’s side in action.

One man making a return to Canterbury is former Kent fast bowler Robbie Joseph, with the Antiguan enjoying a great start to the season with Leicestershire, earning himself a contract until the end of the season with the Foxes.

Another player of West Indian origin coming to Kent this week is Ramnaresh Sarwan with the diminuitive middle order batsman looking to put the disappointment of being dropped by his national side behind him.

Kent squad: Rob Key, Sam Northeast, Ben Harmison, Brendan Nash, Mike Powell, Darren Stevens, Geraint Jones, Matt Coles, Mark Davies, Charlie Shreck, James Tredwell, Chris Piesley.
