Kent’s young fast bowler Matt Hunn is likely to make his debut in the team’s final match of the season at home to Lancashire.
Having only signed a contract with the county on Monday after impressing in second XI cricket this season, 19-year-old paceman Hunn is expected to make his first-class debut at Canterbury tomorrow against a Lancashire side who have already secured promotion as Second Division champions.
Charlie Shreck is the bowler to make way from the squad that drew with Northamptonshire last week.
The visitors, unbeaten in the County Championship this season with eight wins from their 15 matches, have named Kyle Jarvis in their squad; the Zimbabwe-born fast bowler set for his debut if he starts, having signed a three-year deal with Lancashire last month.
They also include Simon Kerrigan, who featured briefly for England in the final test of this summer’s Ashes and has been named in the England Performance Programme Squad for the coming winter tour, and Ashwell Prince, the experienced former South African batsman.
Lancashire have also rested one or two of their frontline bowlers for the final game, including Glen Chapple and Kyle Hogg.
Kent will be looking to sign off a disappointing season with a victory, having managed only two so far in the current Championship campaign, sitting in sixth position after the penultimate round of fixtures.
The two sides played out a draw when they met at Old Trafford in a rain-affected game in Manchester earlier in the season, when a Brendan Nash century on the final day helped secure a draw for Kent.
