Kent will now face New Zealand A in a 50 over per side game at Canterbury on Wednesday after a washout on Monday and Tuesday.Kent v Middlesex2

The two teams were set to face each other in a three day game at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, but heavy rain in the area forced umpires Billy Taylor and Steve O’Shaughnessy to call both days off shortly before lunch.

It’s now been decided the final day’s play on Wednesday would be better served staging a 50 overs per side game with play to start at 10:30am.

Accordingly, Kent have named a revised twelve man squad with Rob Key coming back to skipper the side.

There will also be a run out for the likes of Darren Stevens and Ben Harmison as Kent have one eye on the Royal London Cup Quarter Final clash with Gloucestershire at Canterbury on Friday.

The New Zealanders have, so far, had a very successful tour of the UK. They won the Triangular 50 Over competition, which included the England Lions and Sri Lanka, beating the Lions twice.

In their final three One-day fixtures against Scotland, they won comfortably twice with the final match abandoned due to poor weather.

The team includes some well known performers in the Black Caps including; Captain and wicketkeeper B J Watling, batters Hamish Rutherford, Tom Latham, Dean Brownlie and Grant Elliott and bowlers, Doug Bracewell, Matt Henry and Hamish Bennett.

Entry to see Kent v New Zealand A costs just £5 on the gate and allows supporters to sit in the Frank Woolley Stand as well in the uncovered areas.

Kent’s 12 man squad: Key, Bell-Drummond, Harmison, Nash, Stevens, Blake, Billings, Haggett, Griffiths, Riley, Thomas, Hunn.
