Kent Spitfires v Sussex Sharks Preview

Kent have named a fourteen man squad for today’s first Twenty 20 game of the season that’s been moved to Canterbury.

The game had to be switched from Tunbridge Wells to the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury after heavy rain saw the outfield waterlogged at the Nevill Ground.

With the Sussex Sharks in town for a 7pm start, the Kent Spitfires will be looking for a great start to their Friend’s Lide Twenty 20 campaign and have added both Azhar Mahmood and Mark Davies to the squad.

With the weather forecast set to be for showers throughout the day, Kent will be hoping the rain passes over ahead of the floodlit fixture.

Sam Billings is once again expected to open the batting alongside skipper Robert Key, whilst Mahmood will most likely bat at number three with overseas signing Brendan Nash set to make his T20 debut.

The Sussex Sharks have added South African Rusty Theron to their squad for the game with former Kent fast bowler Amjad Khan in contention to play against his old side.

New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris is expected to line up for the Sharks with England all-rounders Mike Yardy and Luke Wright also set to be on show.

Kent’s 14 man squad: Rob Key, Sam Billings, Azhar Mahmood, Darren Stevens, Brendan Nash, Sam Northeast, Ben Harmison, Geraint Jones, James Tredwell, Matt Coles, Simon Cook, Adam Ball, Mark Davies, Fabian Cowdrey.

Sussex squad: Amjad Khan, WAT Beer, BC Brown (wkt), JS Gatting, MW Goodwin, CJ Liddle, MW Machan, CD Nash, SB Styris, J Theron, LJ Wright, MH Yardy (capt).
