Kent revise Twenty 20 schedule

Kent Cricket have confirmed that the dates of two of Spitfires’ Friends Life T20 fixtures have been moved to avoiding clashing with the football.

The two games against Hampshire and Essex have been moved  following the announcement of the match schedule for next summer’s European Championships.

The Spitfires’ home match against Hampshire Royals on Friday 15th June, and away fixture against Essex Eagles on Tuesday 19th June have been altered to avoid a clash with England football matches against Sweden and Ukraine in the group stages of the competition. The T20 schedule has been revised in consultation with ECB and the Clubs involved.

The two matches are now scheduled to take place on:
Essex v Kent (Chelmsford) – Wednesday 20th June – 7pm start under floodlights
Kent v Hampshire (Canterbury) – Sunday 24thJune – 3pm start

Kent Cricket CEO, Jamie Clifford commented on the announcement; “This seems a very sensible way to approach these fixtures. We have in previous years seen the impact of hosting games at the same time as England football.

“This gives us the best possible chance to maximise the crowd for the Hampshire fixture, and I am grateful to ECB and Hampshire for approaching the change of date with such an open mind.”
