Kent have named a 13 man squad ahead of their three day first class fixture against Cardiff MCCU at Canterbury starting on Wednesday.
The squad includes recent Kent Cricket signing Calum Haggett who will be keen to make his mark and Charlie Shreck returns to the squad having missed the last two pre-season games after becoming a father.
Announcing the squad, Head Coach Jimmy Adams commented; “The players are looking forward to the start of the season with a sense of anticipation…”
The likes of Adam Ball, Ashley Shaw, Ivan Thomas and Ben Harmison miss out on selection suggesting they won’t feature in the first County Championship fixture of the season against Leicestershire starting on Wednesday 17th April.
Meanwhile, Kent batsman Fabian Cowdrey may well feature for Cardiff MCCU having opened the batting for the University side against Glamorgan last week.
Kent Cricket have confirmed free entry and free car parking for this fixture – although the Nackington Gate will be closed, with no through traffic.
The Cornwallis Room will be open to all throughout the match, with hot lunch available. The Chiesman Pavilion will be open to Members only (the Les Ames Stand will not be open).
