Skipper Sam Northeast leads the side which features batsmen Joe Denly and Alex Blake who sat out the two-day game against Essex last week and opportunities for seamers Charlie Hartley and Hugh Bernard to impress.
Wicketkeeper Adam Rouse returns to his former county and there are two spinners selected with places for Adam Riley and Imran Qayyum.
After the Hampshire trip, Kent return to Canterbury to play Durham in a two-day friendly at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Thursday and Friday (11am start, free entry).
