Kent will be looking to make it back to back YB40 wins in front of the Sky Cameras when Worcestershire come to Canterbury tonight.
The Spitfires will go into the game full of confidence having beaten Netherlands comfortably by seven wickets in Deventer on Friday afternoon and have won two of their first three fixtures of the new campaign.
James Tredwell is expected to keep faith with the side that served them so well over in Holland with Sam Billings once again partnering Rob Key at the top of the order, whilst Ben Harmison is expected to keep his place in the side ahead of Sam Northeast.
Meanwhile, wicketkeeper Geraint Jones admits his side will have to be at their best to beat a Worcestershire side they haven’t faced much in recent years:
“They are a side we don’t know too much about as we haven’t really come up against them so they will be a bit of an unknown quantity. Having said that, we have done all the research and watched the videos.”
“They will have a bit of confidence because of the way they’ve been playing. It will be tough but we are all looking forward to it as it’s nice to come up against a team that we haven’t played for a while.”
Meanwhile, Jones believes the Sky cameras brings out the best in some of the Kent side:
“It’s always good to have the Sky television cameras there and I think it seems to inspire us; especially some of the younger lads.”
“Their hairstyles all seem to change for the big day and I think they love the limelight! Jimmy (Adams) said last year that he wished all of our games were on television because it does seem to inspire us. Let’s hope that proves to be the case once again this year.”
Play is scheduled to start at 4:40pm for the televised game at Canterbury with ticket information available from www.kentcricket.co.uk
