Kent Kings Britain’s newest Speedway club have announced their 3rd member of the team for 2013.Kent Kings2

He is Devon born Connor Coles, son of former Exeter and Edinburgh star rider Michael Coles and grandson of Exeter legend, Bob Coles. He was spotted racing at Peterborough in a junior event by Kent co-promoter, Len Silver, who immediately saw the potential in him and he joined the Rye House Raiders team for the second half of the 2012 season.

While the youngster has loads to offer he is handicapped by not having workshop facilities where he lives with his mother in Exeter, so John Sampford, team, manager of the Kings has arranged to have his machine cared for in Kent.

“It isn’t the most convenient way for any rider to be situated,” commented Sampford, “But this boy has enough promise to make the inconvenience worthwhile and I am sure he will continue to progress and help the Kings to gain success in this, their inaugural season.”

Machinery for Coles will be supplied by ex-rider, Peter Seaton, who is renowned for looking after youngsters with potential. “I was delighted to be invited to help Connor after I saw him in action last year. This is a boy who has a big future and I will take great pleasure in being involved with that.” was the comment from Peter.
