Kent Exiles American Football team prepare themselves for the biggest game of the club’s 30 year history on Sunday afternoon when they play Leicester Falcons in the BAFL Division One Final at Britbowl XXXII in Leeds.
Having secured promotion to the Premier Division of the BAFL next season with their win over Solent Thrashers in the Southern Conference final, The Exiles now have the chance to win the national title at the British American Football showpiece event when they take on the best team from the North.
Their opponents Leicester Falcons defeated Nothumberland Vikings 15-8 in the Division One North Championship game, which has also guaranteed them Premier Division football for next season.
The Exiles finished their regular season 7-3 before seeing off Sussex Thunder and Solent Thrasher in the play offs, while The Falcons finished their NFC Div One campaign with an unbeaten record of 10-0 defeating Lancashire Wolverines and Northumberland in the post season on the journey to Britbowl to continue their impressive run.
With two successful junior teams, a women’s team and flag football side Kent Exiles have achieved so much and reaching this final let alone the possibility of winning it has taken the club even further.
The game takes place at John Charles Stadium in Leeds, kick off 2.30pm.
