Following the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, Kent Cricket have announced that Board Member Krishna Shanmuganathan has been elected as the Club’s new Chair, succeeding Jamie Clifford.

Kent Cricket’s Board met after the AGM and determined that Krish would become Kent Cricket’s new Chair, with Jamie Clifford to remain at the Club as Vice Chair. Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, was co-opted to ensure performance cricket representation on the Board.
Born in Dartford and brought up in Bromley, Krish is an experienced non-executive director and Chair, with almost 30 years of experience in leadership roles in government, financial services and corporate advisory.
He currently chairs two listed investment companies, primarily focused on Asian equities. Previously, he was a partner at Hakluyt & Company, a global strategic advisory firm. Prior to that, he oversaw external research at Fidelity Investments and started his career with a ten-year stint in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
He still plays cricket for Farningham Cricket Club in the Kent County Village League and is actively involved in coaching its junior sides.
Kent Cricket’s new Chair, Krish Shanmuganathan, said: “I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Club’s Chair, and I’m also grateful to the Board for placing their confidence in me.
“I’m delighted that Jamie has agreed to become Vice Chair and Simon Cook has joined the Board, ensuring cricket remains at the heart of all our discussions. I’m very much looking forward to coming season of Men’s and Women’s cricket, as I’m sure you all are.”
“It has been a real privilege to serve as Chair of Kent Cricket over the past nine months,” said Jamie Clifford, now appointed Vice Chair.
“Having previously indicated that I would step down following the Club’s AGM, I do so with a real sense of excitement for what is to come for Kent.
“There is no doubt that this is significant period for the Club, and I wish Krish every success as he steps into the role of Chair. I’m very much looking forward to supporting him as Vice Chair as we continue to move Kent Cricket forward together.”
