This week saw the Smashing it for Smither’s charity bike ride get underway as two Kent cyclists visit nine county cricket grounds.
The Kent cycling duo, Neil Scott and Paul Cook will visit nine county cricket grounds over 5 days, starting at Worcester Cricket Ground, followed by Edgbaston, then Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Northhamptonshire, London’s famous Lord’s Cricket Ground and Kia Oval, on to Canterbury and finishing at their local home ground of Addington Village Cricket Club for a celebration event on Friday 16 August.
Come along on Friday 16th August and cheer the cyclists on as they ride in with Kevin Smither’s four children, Maddie, Harry, Ireland and Oliver to Kevin’s home ground of Addington Village Cricket Club at 6pm.
Kevin Smither, who sadly lost his battle with terminal cancer inspired the epic journey to raise much needed funds for the the Kent Oncology Department at Maidstone Hospital, who support and care for so many patients and families in the area and across the country.
The Smashing it for Smither’s charity bike ride has raised over £6,000 so far and hope to increase this amount with a charity raffle of all signed and gifted memorabilia collected from the county grounds along the way at the celebration event on Friday.
All donations are gratefully received via Just Giving at www.justgiving.com/neilscott200 or text SIFS 51 £(amount) to 70070.
