Kent were denied the chance of having any more match practice ahead of the new season when their game with Cardiff MCCU was abandoned.
The umpires decided shortly after 1pm on Friday that there wouldn’t be any chance of getting any play at the St Lawrence Ground for the second day in a row, calling the game off with just the one day of the three day game seeing any action.
Kent had posted 333 for 8 declared in their innings with Daniel Bell-Drummond scoring an unbeaten century whilst Cardiff MCCU were 33 for 1 in reply at the close on Wednesday night.
Heavy rain and a wet outfield saw all the available hours of play wiped out and the final two days of the game were lost.
Kent will now switch their attention to the opening County Championship fixture of the season against Leicestershire at Grace Road starting on Wednesday.
