Kent Crusaders’ undefeated run in NBL Division 2 Men came to an end on Saturday with a 56-60 loss to London Westside at Brompton Academy.

The four point loss ended Kent’s win streak in the championship at 8 games, and 12 overall including the National Cup – where Kent will look to bounce back in the semi-finals on Sunday at Solent.

“Credit to London Westside for pulling out the win today,” said Kent Head Coach Lloyd Gardner.

“We haven’t been playing greatly and the signs were there two weeks ago when we got the lucky one against Ipswich. We struggled shooting the ball today, but the true test will be how we respond tomorrow in the National Cup semi, I hope the loss will be a wake up call that we can’t expect to cruise through games in a tough league.”

John Shodipo led Crusaders with 12 points, whilst Amin Adamu and RJ Eytle-Rock added 10 points a piece.

Despite a solid first half, where Kent held on to a 28-23 lead at the break, it was London Westside who got the upper hand in final two periods, led by 16 points from Kayne Henry-McCalla.

Crusaders, who still sit atop of the Division 2 league table, will now take on Solent Kestrels at 3pm in Solent on Sunday afternoon in the National Cup Semi-Finals.
