Kent Crusaders improved to 3-0 in Men’s NBL Division 2 on Saturday with a comfortable 72-86 away victory over previously undefeated Killamarsh Derbyshire Arrows.
Crusaders were leading by 25 and cruising heading into the fourth quarter, before being let down by a poor final 10 minutes. Minutes were spread across the entire squad with nobody playing more than 25 minutes.
RJ Eytle-Rock had an impressive first half on his way to 19 points, along with John Shodipo who added 19 of his own. Amin Adamu finished with 13.
“Today was a solid performance for us,” Head Coach Lloyd Gardner said after the game.
“Two weeks in a row we have gone on the road to difficult gyms and come away with a win so we have to be pleased with that. Today we had a really good spell across the second and start of the third quarter and that was ultimately the difference in the game.
“The only negative for us was really the way we allowed them back into the game in the 4th quarter and lost our mental concentration.”
Arrows were led by 18 points from Joseph Baugh.
NBL Division 2 leaders Kent will look to extend their win streak to four when they face London Greenhouse Pioneers on October 29 at Barking Abbey School.
