Undefeated league leaders Sandwich Town and Lordswood were unable to play their first and second eleven games so the spotlight was on the other fixtures with wins for Bexley, Sevenoaks Vine, Bickley Park and Blackheath.
Unbeaten until last week, Tunbridge Wells were unable to close the gap by more than three bonus points and lost second place when beaten soundly at Bexley who leap-frogged them from third place. Having won the toss, captain Matt Stiddard elected to bat and top scored with 44. Everyone in the top six scored over 20 with other major contributions coming from Shaun Evans with 40 and Adam Ball scoring 36 as Bexley finished on 231 for 6.
Alex Williams scored 51 from 56 deliveries to give the visitors hope but when he was fifth out with the score on 134, there was only ever going to be one winner. Ball backed up his good knock by dismissing Williams on his way to 3 for 23 from his ten overs as Wells were dismissed for 165.
Luke Schlemmer scored 117 for his first century of the season as Sevenoaks Vine racked up an imposing 257 for 5. He was supported by 50 from Ben Price and 35 from Evert Bekker. Miles Richardson put in his challenge for man of the match taking 6 for 22 off his ten overs as visitors, Holmesdale, collapsed to 45 for 7. Dom May cracked 47 from 29 balls to give their score a little respectability as they ended on 106 all out.
Jason Benn proved too much for Beckenham Town who were inserted to bat in a ran affected game at Bickley Park. His 5 for 11 off seven overs ripped through the heart of the visitors with extras accounting for more than a quarter of their 53 all out from 24 overs.
In response, Bickley took just ten and a half overs to knock off the required runs losing just one wicket on the way. It was Bickley’s fourth consecutive victory whilst the defeat left Beckenham in the relegation zone.
The final match was also rain affected with Blackheath deepening the misery for bottom club Bromley. Reduced to 30 overs per side, the visitors were also helped by 14 extras to reach 61 all out off 26.1 overs. Arafat Bhuiyan took 4 for 10 from his six overs and Harry Ledger claimed 3 for 14 off his six.
Hosts Blackheath raced to their target in just over thirteen overs losing just three wickets. Dipayan Paul top scoring with 29 not out to ease the hosts further away from the bottom two.
